Illustrated postcard depicting the steamship Empress of Japan, built in 1891 to provide rapid connection between Halifax and Hong Kong, with bilingual text in English and French. The reverse mentions the publisher Canada Post and indicates that the ship was destroyed in 1926. Canada stamps 2 and 34 applied, with a Halifax cancellation.
