Description

Postcard illustrating the S.S. Barquentine, the first steamship of the Allan Line company, launched in July 1854. The reverse mentions its first voyage in May 1855 and its wreck in June 1857. The handwritten address is intended for the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. Canada stamp 37 and London postmark dated November 17, 1988.
