Postcard showing the bottom of the Cuve at Mars-la-Tour, site of the famous cavalry charge of August 16, 1870. The printed text relates the capture of the Prussian flag by Lieutenant Chabal and the presence of a monument commemorating Captain Julius Mebes and five other officers. The back features a handwritten address to Mr. Frédéric Lebrecq in Paris, dated 1902, and a note about the correspondence on the front not being accepted by all foreign countries.
