View of an impressive limestone rock with striated walls, surrounded by dense vegetation under a clear sky. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 1956, sent from Paris to Villeneuve-la-Rouë, mentioning a trip to the Gorges of the Aiguille. A 12-franc stamp 'La Porte Valentin' canceled in Paris 14th arrondissement.
