Description

Colorized postcard depicting the classical façade of the Madeleine in Paris, with inscription indicating its construction in 1764 under Louis XV, its transformation into a Roman temple in 1806, and its purchase back from the cult in 1842. The pediment represents the Last Judgment. Reverse: handwritten correspondence in cursive script, addressed to a recipient in Paris, with a postmark and partially legible cancellation.
