Postcard showing the Tower of Caesar in Provins, a 13th-century feudal fortress, surrounded by bare trees. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated Wednesday, April 3, 1917, addressed to 'Dear Grandfather and Dear Grandmother', mentioning the death of Albine Perret and Victorie Rossel, signed 'Your affectionate little grandson, Alfred Barin'.
