View of the Porte Saint-Jean and Well of the Citadel in Provins, with a winding path and birds in flight. The reverse bears a handwritten letter addressed to Ernest Darmans in Darnans, Marne, dated December 22, 1913, with a 10 centimes postage stamp and a Provins cancellation.
