Postcard depicting the ship Empress of Japan, built in 1891 to connect Halifax to Hong Kong in 30 days in summer and 30 days in winter, put into service in 1906 and retired in 1926. Bilingual text (English/French) printed at the bottom. Front: Canada 34 stamp with circular cancellation 'Canada'. Back: handwritten address to Thorndhill, Ontario, and descriptive text about the ship.
