View of the Promenade Chamars in Besançon, with its tree-lined walkways and two large decorative vases at the ends. In the distance, Fort Chaudanne rises on the hill. The reverse has handwritten text dated January 1915, addressed to 'Bons Grèzes, Jour ton Cherib', mentioning work at the colonel's office.
