Postcard illustrating the S.S. Canadien, the first screw-powered ship of the Royal Mail Steamer, launched on July 13, 1854, and entered service in May 1856. Bilingual text (English/French) on the back describing its first voyage and its wreck in 1857. Canada 38 stamp with Vancouver, B.C. postmark of June 30, 1939. Handwritten address to Tharnhill, Ontario.
