View of sunrise over the Château de Montségur, located at an altitude of 1,207 meters, overlooking the terraces of Esclarmonde de Foix. Printed text describes the fortress as a 'nest of eagles' and relates its role in the Albigensian War. Reverse: handwritten note from the sender to the recipient, mentioning a visit in July 1944, and a French postage stamp canceled in Toulouse on 30.07.42.
